Meet with and be inspired by like-minded peers who face a similar set of challenges. Share strategies for mitigating the most current information security threats. A friendly, relaxed and professional atmosphere will ensure that you leave this event with a new wealth of trust-based contacts and tangible takeaways. Our goal: bring together what belongs together!
Important! Even if you are not a professional yet, come along and benefit from your peers. Everyone is welcome, even if you may not be able to contribute much or nothing at the beginning. It's about learning and benefiting from others so that you can pass on your experiences later. For further planned events please check at https://www.sig-switzerland.ch/upcoming-events/

Thomas Nau, Enterprise Security Architect at Migros-Genossenschafts-BundWhen Zero Trust meets SaaS – a new Challenge for Cybersecurity
In a time when cyber threats are ubiquitous, Zero (Implicit) Trust is often touted as the ultimate security paradigm. Skeptics argue that Zero Trust is merely "old wine in new bottles," and if you look under the hood, you’ll indeed find quite some elements that have been considered best practices for decades. These include strong authentication methods, user behavior monitoring, least privilege models, and good network segmentation.Nevertheless, Zero Trust is more than the sum of its parts. It represents a paradigm shift by fundamentally questioning the trust placed in the internal network and other components. This also addresses the increasing prevalence of cloud services, mobile devices, and remote work to tackle these new challenges. But what happens when Zero Trust meets the complex world of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)? A black-box application that demands exactly what should not exist in the ultimate Zero Trust universe: explicit trust. The presentation, occasionally provocative, highlights the challenges and pitfalls of implementing Zero Trust in the SaaS environment and beyond.

This roundtable discussion will explore practical applications of Zero Trust Security, focusing on prioritizing use cases and selecting appropriate technologies. Join us to discuss your experience on how you selected the use cases and technologies to start your Zero Trust journey. At the beginning of this session, we will start with a brief introduction into the session and a short poll where the participants are currently in their Zero Trust journey. Afterwards, we will dive into the following topics:
Christer Swartz, Director Industry Solutions at IllumioRe-Thinking Cybersecurity
In 2024 the global spend on cybersecurity tools was $215 Billion, yet the number of security breaches from the previous year increased by 75%. With the advent of AI-generated threats, this will continue to increase, and no amount of money spent on the current approach is likely to make a dent. Now is the time to re-think the current approach to cybersecurity, and to consider an alternative mindset, taking in to account the common dependencies which all threats rely on, including AI threats.Zero Trust is an approach to cybersecurity addressing the common vectors used by all threats, both traditional and AI. Cyber-resilience requires identifying the common traits that all of these threats exhibit, focusing our efforts on securing these common dependencies - rather than continuing to address the explosion of cyber attack methods one at a time. This interactive session will address:
